We at Dignity Fair Trade believe... that competition in the international trading system has caused more and more people to become marginalized overseas. Exploiting weak labor standards, eroding environmental regulations and suppressing commodity prices seem to be the surest way to profitability. Multinational corporations appear to be the winners in this situation. The poor and arginalized people overseas appear to be the losers.
We at Dignity Fair trade believe... that fair trade is a deliberate alternative to this system. Fair trade is rooted in respect for human dignity. The core principals of fair trade are fair pricing, direct purchasing and long-term relationships. We are committed to uphold the human dignity of small-scale producers overseas. “We all have to go shopping. Fair trade is just shopping with respect.”
We at Dignity Fair Trade know... that fair trade is just one way to promote the possibility of a just and peaceful world and we intend to spread the word one customer at a time.
